Lovely Gilly , here is the poem you kindly asked me to read for Mark's funeral . It was such an honour to do so , you chose perfectly, as Mr T would undoubtedly agree. The shock, the heartbreak , the devastating reality that I could no longer call Mark , or whats app him, thats he was not to be found in the paddock with Chester and Bailey and of course Gilly , has been unacceptably surreal and something I am truly finding so difficult to contemplate . The funeral was such a comfort , perfect in every way to reflect Mark's values in life , Mark's life . 'When You Are Broken Open ' and in particular for me , 'The Lark Ascending' will forever be in my mind as this wonderful man was laid to rest , way before he should have been taken from us . Rest in Peace Mr . T under the Grinshill you truly loved . He Is Gone , David Harkins . You can shed tears that he is gone , Or you can smile because he has lived . You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back , Or you can open your eyes , and see all that he has left. Your heart can be empty because you cant see him, Or you can be full of the love that you shared . You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, Or you can be happy for tomorrow , because of yesterday . You can remember him and only that he is gone, Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on . You can cry and close your mind , Be empty and turn your back , Or you can do what he , Mr. T would want , Smile , Open your eyes , Love , And go on .
